Submission of Form:
The Applicant can personally submit or send by post the printout of the application form along with copies of the certificates and other necessary documents to the Director (Academics) International Admission Cell, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru.
Before Submitting the form, Admission Section will check the following:
- The deadlines for submitting the form.
- Whether all the required documents are enclosed and
- Form is attested by the Indian Diplomatic Representative or a responsible Official of the Ministry of Education of applicant’s country or an Official of the applicant’s country’s Embassy / High Commission in India.
Selection Process
The Applications are forwarded to the eligibility committee nominated by the University for screening the applications of foreign nationals. The committee short lists the applications according to the eligibility requirement as per JSSU norms.

All foreign nationals with foreign qualifications are required to submit the Equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with the application form. AIU address is given below:

Procedure for applying and seeking equivalence certificate
Admission Application Form of Foreign students must have an Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), www.aiuweb.org.
The students are advised to send the following documents to the Association of Indian Universities for obtaining Equivalence Certificate along with the prescribed fees in favor of “Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi”.
- 12th grade/Degree/Certificate together with the year-wise Academic Transcript duly authenticated by the Indian Embassy in the Country or its concerned Foreign Mission in India.

Accreditation status of the University/Institute which the student has last attended.
- Copies of the academic Certificates from Higher Secondary onwards (where necessary)
The onus of Certification for Equivalence from AIU is on the candidate.
Provisional Allotment Letter
Only for those applicants who fulfil the eligibility requirements as per JSSU eligibility policy with recommendation by eligibility committee and a pass in English Test, a provisional admission letter will be issued to Foreign Students by the International admission cell and scanned copy of provisional admission letter is sent to the applicant’s Embassy or Consulate in New Delhi, Indian High Commission in applicant’s Home country and a scanned copy of the provisional admission letter is sent to the applicant’s email address. Therefore, applicants are advised to write their email addresses and other details clearly on the application forms. Only after this procedure is completed, the candidate can process the Visa application.
All foreign students should report to the International Admission cell by the date mentioned on provisional admission letter. In case, they fail to report on the date mentioned, the, candidates can request for extension with a formal request sent by email to the office before the reporting date.
Arrival
All foreign Students who secure admission to any course in University should obtain a valid visa and bring all original documents to complete the registration process, without which no admission shall be granted. The visa must be endorsed in the name of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru. No other endorsement will be acceptable.
- Student Visa: Student Visa is required to join Undergraduate Programme, Post- Graduate Programme, Certificate or Diploma Course, and Master of Philosophy Programme.

Research Visa: Research Visa is required to join Ph.D programme
Students staying in India longer than 6 months are required to register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). The following documents are required for registration

Admission Formalities
After completion of Visa formalities, candidate is required to report at International Admission cell within the prescribed date. He/She undergoes following formalities at office:

Student fills the Application form at International Admission cell.

Verification of Valid Visa, Visa endorsement, Passport, Original Education Documents, Medical Insurance by staff.

Student is issued Registration / Admission Fee slip.

Student pays the registration fee at University Finance office.

Reports back to Admission cell with fee receipt.

Course and College/ Department is allotted by the admission cell & admission letter is issued.

Student with admission letter goes to allotted college/department/faculty and finishes all admission formalities of the college/ department.
Medical test
All Foreign students will have to undergo a medical fitness test including HIV test endorsed by a registered medical practitioner before taking final admission.
Medical insurance
It is advised that all Foreign students take a medical insurance policy to meet the expenses of medical treatments (which are not available in the university) during the stay at the university.
Lateral entry/ migration policy (For Pharmacy Courses)
- The candidates who fulfil the eligibility conditions shall be given opportunities for professional growth and career improvement, through Lateral entry/Migration into courses of general, technical and professional education.

The Lateral entry/Migration of the candidates shall not be allowed in the first year of a course of study. Depending upon the availability of seats, admission shall be made at appropriate levels

The sanctioned intake of a class of a course can be enhanced up to a limit of 10% to allow Lateral entry/Migration within this limit.
Transfers & Change of Course:
An international student who has been granted admission to a particular course shall not be allowed to change the course. Transfer from one institution to another in India is also not allowed ordinarily. In exceptional cases, the International Students Cell may permit this - based on the availability of the course, eligibility rules and with the permission of the Competent Authority of the University.
Accommodation
The University has separate hostel accommodations for boys and girls with complete wi-fi facilities. These hostel complexes have state of the art facilities. To enable the students to spend quality time in the University each hostel is equipped with a common room, T.V. Room, Table Tennis Room, Reading Room, Internet Room, Indoor Games Room, Gymnasium, Badminton Courts and Basketball Court. Each room in the hostel is provided with an internet connection. In addition to this each hostel has a medical room and a visiting room. All the hostels are supported by the solar system which helps in the supply of hot water during winter. Apart from these, the University may provide separate accommodation to International Students.

JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research has not authorized any agency/ individual/ agent to act on its behalf and/or to charge any fee from prospective students.
