Students are posted in OBG department where they are allowed to observe screening procedures for gynaec malignancies like pap smear, VIA, VILI, Colposcopy, LEEP, Endometrial sampling, etc.
The basic principles of malignancy screenig and preventive oncology will be taught. Students will be allowed to witness Gynaec - Onco surgeries, if any, being done in the department of OBG, along with the surgical oncologist.

Students are posted in obg dept where they are allowed to witness the gynaec endoscopic surgeries in operation theatre daily.
Basic introduction,principles,surgical methods in brief are taught and they will briefed about endoscopic instruments and its usage in seminar room.
Students are given initial exposure of endoscopy through endo trainers and manniquins

Students are posted in OBG Department where they are allowed to witness the antenatal cases and evaluation of high risk pregnancy cases in OBG OPD and obstetric HDU & High risk labour room.
Introduction , principles of evaluation of high risk cases during antenatal period and role of ultrasonography in evaluation of fetal growth and preventive measures are taught.
Students are allowed to witness the delivery of high risk cases, Instrumental deliveries, Management of PPH, Eclampsia. Students are briefed about the drugs and instruments used in Emergency obstetric care.

At the end of this elective posting, the student must be able to:

Students are posted in OBG department where they are allowed to observe evaluation & treatment of male & female infertility in the OPD & OT. They learn the basic principles of reproductive medicine and witness history taking , examination and investigations in OPD and surgical procedures in female infertile patients (Diagnostic and therapeutic hysterolaparoscopy, adhesiolysis, chromopertubation, tubal recanalisation, etc.,) in OT.

At the end of an elective posting, a student should be able to:
4 Weeks
Students are posted to ultrasound room where they will be allowed to witness various ultrasound procedures undertaken in the department daily. They learn the basic principles of ultrasound and Doppler and basic pelvic anatomy, indications for obstetric scan, various routes of ultrasound scanning including trans abdominal and transvaginal scan and indications for the same.
Students will also be demonstrated about the various ultrasound parameters assessed in obstetric ultrasound like follow up of fetal growth, amount of liquor, placental position and morphology and any obvious fetal anomalies.
