Antibiotic consultancy and antimicrobial stewardship (AMSP)

Based on the culture and sensitivity report in which Minimal Inhibitory Concentrations (MIC) for various antibiotics are denoted, therapeutic index is calculated. Considering the site of infection, pharmacokinetics and dynamics, hepatic and renal functions, the best antibiotic is chosen from the list and the clinicians are advised to make use of the antibiotics rationally.

Voluntary Counseling & Testing Centre for HIV/AIDS (VCTC)

Direct walk-in of the patients who have had high risk behavior (promiscuity, blood transfusion, surgeries / injections) or patients referred from clinical departments are counseled about the risk behavior. Written consent taken from the patients for free HIV testing. Patients with both positive and negative for HIV are again counseled to prevent further spread and referred to ART centre for free treatment. It is ensured that all patients reach ART centre without fail. The project is funded by NACO.

Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission (PPTCT) of HIV/AIDS

Pregnant mothers are given counseling in groups on the modes of HIV transmission. They are then voluntarily registered under pptct programme. All of them are offered free HIV testing. Those who test positive for HIV are registered for free treatment of ART to prevent transmission of HIV from mother to babies. After the delivery both mother and child are put on ART. The project is funded by NACO.

Antiretroviral Treatment Centre (ART)

All the patients referred from VCTC/PPTCT and wards are counseled on ART and ART is given free of cost to all the HIV patients whose CD4 count is below 500/cumm of blood. Regularly they are followed up with CD4 count & HIV viral load to know the efficacy of treatment. The project is funded by NACO.

State Reference Lab for HIV/AIDS (NABL Accredited)

State Reference Laboratory funded by NACO, is a reference laboratory for various ICTC, PPTCT & ART centres to maintain quality of reports. Regular trainings are conducted to improve the quality of reports and to sensitize the participants on newer guidelines of NACO.

Viral load Lab (NABL Accredited)

This is an initiative by NACO to follow up the patients on ART. Viral load testing of patients on ART will help in understanding if there is any drug resistance, so that second line ART could be initiated.
