This is departmental news letter reflecting on our academic activities like seminars, CMEs and conferences organised and participated. It also publishes a CASE OF THE MONTH after due scrutiny from the editorial members. Awards, fellowships, additional degrees, participation and achievements in extracurricular activities by the staff and PGs will also be highlighted in the news letter. Quiz and crosswords also finds their place in this news letter.


PG - Medicon

This is our unique annual state level postgraduate conference being organized since 2012 with the theme of “UPDATE AND UPGRADE”. System based Bedside clinics, expert talks on day to day challenges in various diseases, workshops and quiz program form the contents of the programs. Postgraduate students across the state get an all-round BENCH TO BEDSIDE opportunity to get trained from experienced faculty from all over the state under one roof. This helps them to enrich their knowledge apart from boosting the confidence in their preparation for the final exams. Saplings will be distributed to the resource personnel as a mark of eco friendly and go-green concept at JSS medical college and hospital.

MOCK examination for PG students

This practice introduced in the year 2017 is exactly the replica of the university examination. 2 external examiners will be a part of the mock examination. Postgraduates will get an opportunity to get acquainted with the final examination scenario and help them prepare better for their exit exams.

CPC for PG students

Introduced from 2019, post graduate students will be expected to apply their Patho-physiological knowledge in analysing the case scenario and hence the recapitulation of their overall medical knowledge.

MCQs for UG students

10 marks are awarded for the MCQs in the internal examination. In the era of MCQs based evaluation, all the students will be continually exposed to MCQ based problem solving and hence equip them to prepare for post graduate exams.
