Public Health is getting re-defined by the challenges posed by the change in climate, living styles, scientific advancements, human indulgence with animals, etc. The recent COVID-19 pandemic explains better the role of prevention and public health. Countries are now investing in these resources by creating public health cadres.
JSS School of Public Health has resonated with this future and has been empowering individuals to be able to handle the new era of a public health crisis. Our master's students are trained in the new MoHFW model curriculum with CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) and semester pattern. We focused mainly on activity-based learning with hands-on experience. Although 2020-22 was affected by the pandemic, our students took part in various COVID-related activities – Screening, Health system strengthening, immunization, etc along with exposure to ICMR and WHO-funded projects. We ensured that each student develops leadership, communication, research, and analytical skills. We are confident that our students will be an asset to any organization.
