Microbiology Club
The Microbiology Club was established in the year 2024 with an aim to foster academic engagement among students, promote practical learning opportunities, facilitate interdisciplinary collaborations and provide exposure to the field that will spark curiosity, creativity and passion towards the subject.

Inaugural Ceremony of Microbiology Club
The Microbiology Club of the Department of Microbiology, JSS AHER Mysuru was inaugurated on 18th May 2024 at 11:00 AM. Dr. Surinder Singh, former Vice Chancellor, JSS AHER, inaugurated the event and addressed the students and faculty of the School of Life Sciences. He stressed on the importance of acquiring knowledge and developing industry-ready skills for better career opportunities and competitive capabilities in students.
He appreciated the efforts of the Department in taking this initiative to expose students to various activities including seminars, workshops, field visits and community engagement. Dr. Raveesha KA, Dean, Faculty of Life Sciences, was the Guest of Honour and support system behind the initiative. Dr. Ashwini P, Coordinator, Department of Microbiology, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Sumana K, Associate Professor, gave a brief insight about the club and Dr. Umamaheshwari S, Assistant Professor, proposed the vote of thanks.
Models and posters pertaining to Microbial Genetics, prepared as part of the curriculum, were presented by students of the Department on the occasion. The enthusiasm and subject knowledge of the students were appreciated by the Chief Guest.
Arrangements of the programme were done by student volunteers of the club. The model presentation was conceptualized and presented under the guidance of Dr. Ann Catherine Archer, Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology.
