The prospect of research in Life Sciences accelerates the nation’s growth. The Faculty of Life Sciences has cohort of researchers with extensive overseas research experience. Our research activities center around understanding biomolecules of life, biochemical and regulating process, nature of diseases, analyze complex biological systems and decipher the intricate network in pathological & neurological conditions using system biology approaches.
Integral part of our research extends in developing nanotechnology-based chemotherapeutic carriers with minimal side effects, drug delivery of cancer nanomedicine & monoclonal antibodies, improved imaging using magnetic nanoparticles, development of brachytherapy spacers for enhanced chemotherapy, understanding the role of genetics in cancer treatment, development of stable food products and cosmetics with therapeutic benefits.
Another facet of our life science research includes research into human behavior, circadian rhythm (sleep-awake dream patters), genetic disorders & abnormal behavior and consciousness & psychotic disorders. Other features of life science research involves applications in geospatial research using GIS systems to enhance clinical & translational-scientific research and big data analytics, novel methods to minimize environmental and water pollution.
This interdisciplinary research provides a unique environment for integrative research and approaches to real world problems. This has been possible by working together with medical, dental and pharmacy schools and our other sister institutions. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) is in place with various international research partners to encourage interdisciplinary collaborative research.
