Research and Development Cell

National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 envisages the promotion of quality research within the Higher Education system and universities. Research and innovation are important aspects to enhance quality convocation by the Higher Education Institution.

UGC emphasizes that societal challenges of the country can be addressed by having a strong and vibrant Higher Education ecosystem with an emphasis on research, innovation and technology development. UGC highlighted that, integration of Research, innovation and technology development is the foundation of Atma Nirbhar Bharat (Self-reliant India) and has provided guidelines for establishment of Research and Development Cell in Higher Education Institutions/Universities.

Accordingly, JSS AHER is establishing the Research and Development Cell, which will enable attainment of Atma Nirbhar Bharat, and will play a pivotal role in catalyzing multidisciplinary/transdisciplinary and translational Research Culture.


Vision

To establish a robust mechanism for developing & strengthening the research ecosystem within JSS AHER aligned with the provisions of National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020.


Mission

  • To create an ecosystem for enhanced research productivity
  • Encourage research collaboration across industry, govt, NGO's, at local, national & international levels.
  • To facilitate greater access to research through funding and immobilization of resources.

Objectives

  • Create organizational structure with role-based functions of RDC, formulating research policy for JSS AHER, identify thrust areas of research, form research cluster groups/frontline teams/consortia of researchers
  • Create provision in research policies for recruitment of research personnel, procurement of equipment and financial management.
  • To promote researchers, identify potential Collaborators from industry, research organization, academic institutions & other stakeholders for co-operation and synergistic partnerships.
  • To act as liaison between researchers & relevant research funding agencies, extend guidance in preparation & submission project proposals & post sanctioning of the grants to overseas adherence to timelines.
  • To have better coordination to deal with IPR related aspects.
  • 6) To develop Institutional Research Information System for sharing the status of ongoing/ completed research project/ programme, expertise & resources using ICT.

The overall function of RDC and subcommittees would help creating a research ecosystem for reliable, impactful, and sustained research output. The essential elements of such an ecosystem, viz generation of knowledge and facilitation of research, innovation and technology development for industrial & Societal benefits shall be addressed by human resources (Research faculty, Students & Scholars) intellectual capital (Knowledge & skill), governances (regulations and policies), and financial resources (funding grants).
