Goal

To prepare health professional faculty & students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for collaborative interprofessional education & practice.

Objectives

• To DEVELOP a strong league to serve IPECP.
• To MENTOR faculty who will be leaders in IPECP.
• To APPRAISE AND ENHANCE knowledge of faculty on IPECP.
• To IMPLEMENT projects related to IPECP which focuses on patient centred care and supports curriculum designing.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Build interdependent relationships with other professions to improve patient care and advance learning, thus engaging in continuous professional and interprofessional development to enhance team performance.
• Provide support for designing and implementing interprofessional education on campus and with community partners.
• Apply leadership practices that support collaborative practice and team effectiveness.
• Develop, articulate, and sustain a vision for collaborative success.
• Reflect on individual and team performance for effective teamwork and team-based practices.
• Serve as the thought leader for advancing interprofessional education.
  1. Develop and promote core competencies for interprofessional collaborative practice.
  2. Create a repository of interprofessional educational tools and resources.
  3. Develop and promote assessment tools and resources to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of IPE efforts.
• Promote, encourage and support the academic community in advancing IPE efforts.
  1. Prepare faculty for teaching students how to work effectively as part of an interprofessional team.
  2. Prepare leaders to advance interprofessional education and interprofessional practice efforts within their institutions.
  3. Convene communities of interest to create, promote and share ideas and practices.
• Inform policy makers and key influencers about the important contribution IPE makes to addressing the health care needs of the nation.
  1. Advance understanding and support of IPEC, interprofessional education, and interprofessional practice among key government agencies.
  2. Advance understanding and support of IPEC, interprofessional education, and interprofessional practice among university leadership.
  3. Advance understanding and support of IPEC, interprofessional education, and interprofessional practice among health system leaders.

EXPECTED OUTCOMES

JSS AHER will be a nodal centre for IPECP in South Karnataka. Apart from getting international recognition & a better ranking in the accreditation bodies, some of the measurable outcomes would be
