Dr M D Ravi

Chief Coordinator, Centre for Clinical research Excellence (CCRE)

MD (Ped) graduated from Kasturba Medical College Manipal/Mangalore. He completed his MD in 1981. He was the best outgoing student in undergraduate group and secured a distinction in MD. He started his career in MS Ramiah

Medical College in 1981 and did a short stint abroad from 1989-96. He has been in JSS MC from 1996. He is Professor of Pediatrics. He has held many posts including Vice Principal JSSMC, Director JSS Hospital, Chairman Board of Studies and Chairman HICC JSS Hospital. He has been the guide for a number of pediatric postgraduate students, mentor for undergraduate students and guide for PhD students. He has completed several research projects and has ongoing projects as well. Dr Ravi has received many awards including Mysore Rathna, Best teacher award, Best Investigator award for vaccine trial etc. He is part of the first batch of DSMB fellows of Harvard University and has undergone multiple trainings from WHO in the field of Vaccinology. He is the head of the WHO AEFI (Adverse events following immunization) sentinel site ate JSS Hospital and Chief Coordinator of CDSA CCRE (Centre for development of scientific activity under Govt of India, Centre for clinical research excellence). His main interests are vaccinology and nutrition. He has published several papers in national and international journals, has given talks in innumerable conferences and training programs nationally and internationally and has completed more than a 15 clinical trials as Principal Investigator, mostly on vaccines.

Dr. Vinaya Rani.G, MSC, MPhil, PhD

Clinical Research Associate, Centre for Clinical research Excellence (CCRE)

Dr. Vinaya Rani. G has joined Centre of Clinical Research Excellence, a government of India CDSA sponsored Centre at JSS AHER as Clinical Research Investigator on Oct 2017 at JSS AHER.

She has 11 years of clinical research experience. She was the recipient of Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi, Women Scientist-A Project in 2014. She has done PhD in Biotechnology from University of Mysore. She has several publications in peer reviewed national and international journals of repute, book chapters in textbook and also deposited Nucleotide Sequences of microbes (113 no’s) to National Centre for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) and obtained accession numbers. Total 11 years of clinical research experience, she has worked in different positions such as CRC, CRA, Clinical research Investigator, Research Officer and Project Manager in Clinical Research Organizations (IQVIA) and Hospital settings. Worked in DBT, DST, WHO projects and also worked in collaboration with Latrobe University, Australia Project. She has completed more than 45 clinical trials at site level as Research officer/Project manager and coordinated with different audits and inspections from DCGI and Sponsors. Also currently working as Research Officer/Project manager in many Vaccines, device and medicine (drug) clinical trials. She has completed many trainings from govt and private sectors regarding Clinical Research and also attended several IM meetings and got trained for GCP (Investigator Meetings at- Poland, Prague, Malaysia, Hongkong, Delhi, Mussoorie). She strongly thrives for getting funded projects/ clinical trials and believes in advancing herself through quality research outputs. She is experienced in organizing workshops, trainings and conferences as an organizing secretary and also delivered many lectures on topics of ICH-GCP and clinical research. Thirteen workshops organized/worked as Organizing Secretary, Sponsored by JSSAHER and other government agencies (DBT, ICMR) and also participated as speaker. Recently she has been identified as one of the best “Best Women Scientist-A”, DST under DST WoS-A in Karnataka. She has worked as Project Manager in BIRAC- Mission covid Suraksha Project- 2021, Sponsored by Department of Biotechnology -DBT- New Delhi. Under this project more than 10 covid vaccine/drug trials were conducted at JSS Hospital in which she worked as Research officer, during Covid -19 pandemic.

Keerthana R joined CDSA-CCRE at JSSAHER on February 2024. She is a postgraduate in Biotechnology passed with distinction from University Of Mysore. She is currently handling the site start up activities of CCRE department. She has also qualified GATE XL life science exam– 2024. She has working experience in the field of Bioinformatics during her internship program.

Dr.Rovin M Theempalangad joined CDSA-CCRE in August 2021.He completed Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) from JSS AHER with 6 years of experience in Clinical Research, academics and hospital settings. He is handling all site start up activities of clinical trials. He is organized, diplomatic and efficient worker. He is currently involved in clinical trials as Research officer and Pharmacist.
