Classroom: Well equipped classrooms with modern audio visual aids for teaching and learning.60% of classroom interaction and 40% of integrated practical work ensures learning the nuances of Hospital Management in most of the subjects. Practical work involves data collection, analysis and interpretation leading to continuous improvement. Guest lectures are also organized by inviting eminent persons from industry/hospital administration.
Library resources: Well equipped central and departmental library with wi-fi connection having more than 1000 Management and Hospital administration books and also having subscribed national and international journals.
Computer Lab: Computer lab with wi-fi connection and more than 50 computer systems for use by students.
Hospital training: Classroom teaching is supported by Hands-on training in JSS Hospital apart from visits to various other hospitals during the course.
Conferences/Workshops/Seminars: The department organizes workshops/conferences and also encourages students to take part in conferences/workshops/seminars organized by other institutes.
Collaborations: The department establishes collaborations with national and international organizations, institutes for academic and research activities as well as faculty and student exchange programme.
JSS hospital is a1800 bedded tertiary care hospital which is a teaching hospital. The students have hospital postings during each semester to enhance and facilitate real time learning for budding administrators. Reference: www.jsshospital.in
Students have exclusive hostels for men and women with spacious, comfortable, well-furnished rooms with all modern amenities, hygienic kitchens, nutritious food, and a 24-hour security system at JSS AHER. Students wishing to stay in these hostels are advised to apply in the prescribed forms. The campus has a bank and an ATM kiosk, plus a post office and a healthcare clinic. Leisure time spaces such as reading and television lounges are also available.
Awell equipped leisure Room is a popular place for students to relax. Activities include chess, carrom, table tennis etc. Outdoor sports are well catered for and include basketball courts and cricket and soccer grounds. The Academy encourages outdoor sports as part of the overall development of students. Athletic Meets are held annually. In addition, the college also offers a dedicated Yoga and meditation course to enable fit mind and body. Multi-Cuisine Food Court is available within the campus.
The department also organizes visits to various industries and hospitals to provide learning beyond classroom learning and also provide opportunity to interact with industry experts. Visits to Infosys, Columbia Asia, MYRA, Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park (SJCE STEP), RUDSET Institute, Suttur PHC, Biocon, Bharat cancer hospital, Narayana Hrudayalaya, Columbia Asia hospital, Kasturba Medical College & Hospital, Manipal, Yenepoya Medical College, Mangalore have been successfully organized in the past. The visits focus on Industry –Academia interface to prepare the students for corporate challenges and also placement opportunities.
