Dr. Shasthara P, Associate Professor, Department of Neurology at JSS hospital had a brilliant undergraduate career with gold medal in undergraduate and post graduate course in RGUHS. He had been a winner of several undergraduate debate competitions and quizzes. He was awarded best paper award at national conference in Medicine(APICON) and state level medicine conferences.He was the winner of RSSDI diabetic quiz during his MD career at BMCRI,Bangalore. In the DM career,he was an awardee at national level neurology quiz ARPAN at NIMHANS.

Dr. Madhu Srinivasarangan, Professor and Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine at JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru, is a skilled surgeon with MBBS and DNB (General Surgery) qualifications. He has extensive experience in acute care and trauma management and is the first author of Emergency Medicine – Equipment, Procedures and Drugs. His notable research includes studies on injury severity and emergency diagnosis of non-traumatic undifferentiated hypotension. His expertise closely aligns with the principles of Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), making him an invaluable guide for this workshop.

Dr. Nithin K.B., Associate Professor, General Surgery has been associated with JSS Hospital since 9 years and has conducted multiple undergraduate workshops. He is an enthusiastic teacher who has a passion for teaching right from his student days. He is committed towards student research programs and guiding students in various research projects. He is also an active Medical Education Unit member.

Dr. Deepti Thandaveshwara, Assistant Professor, Department of Paediatrics has over nine years of experience at JSS Medical College and Hospital, and is also a proud alumnus of JSS Medical College. A national trainer for the Basic and Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program, she has several national and international publications and received the “Prof. Y. T. Thathachari Endowment Prize for the Best Research Paper” in 2020. She is actively involved in NICU research, the development of the NNFI SHUSHU app, and medical devices under patent consideration. Dr. Deepti also contributes as a member of the Medical Education Unit, College Cultural Committee, and Child Abuse Response Unit.

Dr. Soumya H.V., Professor and Head of Department of Ophthalmology, has completed Masters in Ophthalmology and has undergone fellowship and training in Medical Retina . She has been practising in the field of Retinal diseases. She underwent training in Phacoemulsification for cataract surgery and has been performing the same. She is a member of the Medical education Unit of JSS and is undergoing an advanced course in medical education. She has many papers and posters to her credit. Her poster was selected for physical presentation at RANZCO- annual conference of Royal College of Australia and New Zealand ophthalmologists at Sydney- November 2019

Dr. Bindu Malini is working as senior resident in the department of ophthalmology at JSS hospital. She is an alumni of JSS University with MBBS (2010) and MS Ophthalmology(2013) from Jss medical college. She has also obtained DNB degree in the year 2014. She has been awarded fellowship in Orbit and oculoplasty from Aravind eye hospital, Coimbatore in 2018 and is a trained phacoemulsification cataract surgeon. Along with comprehensive eye care, she is fortifying her clinical acumen in oculoplasty and orbit surgeries. She has been awarded gold medal for achieving the highest score among MS candidates during her post graduation. She is a member of All India ophthalmic society, Karnataka ophthalmic society and Mysore ophthalmic association.

Dr. Vijay C, Professor at JSS Hospital, Mysore, is a renowned knee and shoulder surgeon specializing in arthroscopy and complex surgeries. He has guided numerous postgraduate students, published research, and pioneered minimally invasive techniques, aspiring to become one of the top knee and shoulder surgeons.

Dr. Chandrakanth H.V., Professor and Head of the department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology ,JSS Medical College is a recognized expert in Forensic Dermatoglyphics, Forensic Pathology, and Post Mortem Chemistry. With numerous publications and conference presentations, he brings practical and theoretical knowledge to the field. He also supervises research, including Histomorphometric analysis of coronary arteries, guiding three postgraduate students in their studies.

Dr. M. Kishor, MBBS, MD (Psychiatry), is Professor and Head of Psychiatry at JSS Medical College & Hospital, Mysuru. A university rank holder (RGUHS, 2006–2009), he received the IPS State Award for Best Postgraduate Research (2008) and the Dr. Ramachandra N. Moorthy National Fellowship (2012). He has undergone training under WHO experts Prof. Norman Sartorius and Prof. Mohan Issac.

He has been Guest Faculty at AIMST University, Malaysia, and represented JSS AHER at the Mayo Clinic, USA. A certified Medical Education Fellow (JIPMER), he served on the Indian Journal of Psychiatry Editorial Board and founded MINDS, India’s first monthly psychiatry newsletter.

Editor of several books and recipient of the 2018 International Neuropsychiatric Association Award, his key interests include suicide prevention, addiction, perinatal and child psychiatry, cognitive neurosciences, and medical education. He also guides multiple PhD scholars across various disciplines.

Dr. Sarika M. Shetty, Associate Professor of Anaesthesiology at JSS Medical College, is an AHA-certified BLS and ACLS instructor with 19 publications and three book chapters. A distinguished alumna, she is committed to sharing her expertise with future healthcare professionals, aiming to foster a compassionate and empathetic generation while contributing significantly to medical knowledge.

Dr. Vidya C.S., MBBS, MD, Ph.D., Professor and Head of the Department of Anatomy at JSS Medical College, is a distinguished alumna of the institution with over 22 years of experience in teaching and research. A passionate academician dedicated to excellence and innovation in medical education, she is a pioneer in digital learning and the creator of the digital histology CD “Histology Learning Made Easy” for MBBS students. She has also enhanced her expertise through a Certificate Course in e-Learning and an NPTEL certification from IIT Kanpur.

Dr. Murli completed his MBBS at Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences, RGUHS (2008–2013) and received registration number 108065 on 24/12/2014. He went on to pursue his MD in Psychiatry at JJM Medical College, RGUHS.

He has contributed to psychiatric literature as first author of “A Rare Case of Adolescent Suicide with Paraphilia” (Journal of Psychosexual Health, 2025). His additional publications include “Modified Electroconvulsive Therapy as Maintenance Treatment” (2023) and “Importance of Geriatrics in Psychiatric Post Graduate Education” (2023), both in the Digital Journal of Clinical Medicine. Through his clinical training and research, Dr. Murli continues to contribute meaningfully to the field of psychiatry.

Dr. Ramireddy Gari Hareeth Reddy is an Emergency Medicine specialist who completed his MBBS at Kurnool Medical College and his MD in Emergency Medicine at JSS Medical College. He is currently a Senior Resident in Emergency Medicine at JSS, focusing on acute care, trauma, resuscitation, and crisis management.

He has published research on topics including the HEART score, Wernicke’s encephalopathy in pregnancy, and other emergency medicine cases. Dr. Hareeth Reddy is committed to evidence-based, patient-centered acute care and ongoing contributions to clinical research and medical education.
