Department of Pharmacology

Pharmacology is one of the core subjects of biomedical sciences contributing remarkably to other fields of biomedical sciences.

Department established in 1983, and currently offers curricula in four tracks at: undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD and PG diploma in regulatory toxicology. Department now occupied with 7 faculty, 22 research scholars and 30 post graduate students.

Department has received financial assistance from government funding agencies like AICTE, DBT,DST ICMR, and VGST (K-FIST) to strengthen the research infrastructure and to carry out research projects. Department gives access to equipments necessary to conduct research across the spectrum, from in vivo studies to molecular mechanistic studies.

GPAT qualified and meritorious PG students receive AICTE-GPAT fellowship and SIR RATAN TATA student scholarship respectively during their course. And student were placed in various reputed Pharm companies based on campus interview. Department offers scientific services on preclinical pharmacological and toxicological testing of potential or registered compounds. Department has collaboration with various CSIR research institutions/industry for students Projects. Faculty feel proud on their role in imparting subject knowledge and high-quality research training besides inculcating human values to the students.
