The department of Pharmaceutical Analysis was established in the year 1994. The M. Pharmacy course in Pharmaceutical Analysis was started in the same year and the M. Pharmacy Course in Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance was started in 2010. The courses were designed to provide industry ready professionals for the analysis and quality control of pharmaceuticals with appropriate skill set, knowledge base and practical expertise. In addition to the regular PG Program the department also offers value added courses viz PG Diploma in Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance and Certificate Course in Quality Assurance. The department is also recognised for the conduct of Ph D research program.
The research laboratory in the department is equipped with sophisticated analytical instruments like Liquid Chromatography Tandem MS with triple quadrupole mass analyser(LC-MS/MS), liquid chromatography – single quadrupole mass analyser (LC-MS), Optimum Pressure Liquid Chromatography (OPLC) and other instruments like High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) with different detector configurations (Photo diode array detector, Dual Wavelength UV Detector and UV-VIS detectors), UV – VIS Spectrophotometer, FT- IR Spectrophotometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), Fluorimeters, Flame Photometers etc. The departmental activities are supported by well qualified and trained academicians
