About the Congress

The 9th International Congress of the Society for Ethnopharmacology, India (SFEC-2022) (Globalizing Local Knowledge and Localizing Global Technologies) is being organized by SFE - India Mysuru Chapter, JSS College of Pharmacy, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysuru and Society for Ethnopharmacology, India during 22-24 April 2022 at JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research Campus, Mysuru, Karnataka, India. The theme of this congress is "Redefining Ethnopharmacology for the global health and well being". This theme evolved after due deliberations with SFE-Mysuru Local Chapter, LOC and leadership of SFE-India mainly focus on the current scenario of constantly changing and evolving Ethnomedicine, encompassing the different systems of traditional systems of medicines, folk medicines, tribal healers etc. Through the technology and science in Herbal drug research and understanding the Ethnopharmacology is reaching its peak, yet the challenges in sustainability, safety, efficacy and quality of herbal drugs remains a challenge. Covid-19 pandemic compelled the mankind in general and the scientific community in particular to look at herbal drugs as a safer, better and reliable alternative medicines to treat and prevent diseases than the modern medicine

Hence this congress adopted the theme, which focus and deliberates on strong rational, newer technologies, better strategies to discover newer drugs and formulations form the nature. The congress will be highlighting on several crucial and contemporary issues on the Ethnomedicine, Ethnopharmacology and Medicinal Plant Research by the renowned scientists across the globe. This will provide an ideal platform to the participants to present their research work, interact, debate and disseminate ideas amongst the distinguished professionals, eminent scientists, technologists, industrialists and traditional health care professionals.
