The School of Public Health, JSS Medical College, JSS AHER is pleased to share the successful completion of a two-day hands-on workshop on “Designing and Validating Research Questionnaires”, conducted on 9th & 10th April 2026. The workshop was organised in sponsorship with the Innovation & Technology Transfer Office (ITTO), Research Division, JSS AHER. The workshop was inaugurated by the esteemed dignitaries Dr. Narayanappa D, Principal, JSS Medical College,JSS AHER and Dr. Prashanth M Vishwanth, Dean Research, JSS Medical College, JSS AHER. We were privileged to have Dr. Gautham M. Sukumar, Professor of Epidemiology at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), as the resource person and Dr. Isha Madan as facilitator. His insightful sessions on tool design, various aspects of validity (face, content, construct, and criterion), and reliability measures provided participants with a strong foundation in research questionnaire designing and validation. The valedictory session was enriched by Dr. Balamuralidhara V, Deputy Dean- Research, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) cell, who delivered an engaging session on copyright considerations for validated questionnaires. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, PhD scholars, and project staff across multiple departments, including Public Health, Community Medicine, Paediatrics, General Medicine, Psychiatry, ENT, Anatomy, Nutrition, Clinical Psychology, and collaborating organizations- Public Health Research Institute of India (PHRII) and Grassroots Research And Advocacy Movement (GRAAM) .
