Graduates Reception for 2020-21 MBBS Batch students was held on 4th April 2026, Saturday at JSS Medical Institutions campus, Sri Shivarathreeshwara Nagar, Mysuru. A total of 195 new graduates received their graduation certificates on this occasion. The programme was held in the Divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji, Chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru. Dr.M.K.Ramesh, President, Medical Assessment and Rating Board, National Medical Commission, New Delhi, was the chief guest. Dr.B.Suresh, Pro-Chancellor & Dr.H.Basavanagowdappa, Vice Chancellor, JSSAHER, were the guests of honor. Dr.C.G.Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS MVP, presided over the function. Dr.B.Manjunatha, Registrar, JSSAHER, Dr.Sudheendra Bhat, Controller of examinations, JSSAHER, Dr.Prashant.V, Dean Research, JSSAHER, Dr.C.P.Madhu, Director, JSS Hospital, Dr.Suma.M.N, Vice Principal (Pre-Para Clinicals), and Dr.Manthappa.M, Vice Principal (Clinicals), were present on this occasion. The program started with an invocation by Ms.Parvathy Venkatesh & Ms.Bhuvana MBBS students of JSS Medical College. Dr.Narayanappa D, Principal, JSS Medical College, welcomed the gathering and congratulated young graduates who have successfully completed their undergraduate medical education and entered into the world of medical profession. He gave brief account of progress made by JSS Medical College in 2025. Dr.M.B.Bharathi, Prof, Department of Oto Rhinolaryngology, administered the Hippocratic Oath to Graduates. Gold medals & Cash prizes were distributed to the following Graduate’s by His Holiness Swamiji & Chief Guest Dr.M.K.Ramesh & Dr.Narayanappa.D, Principal, JSSMC. Dr.Purna Bansal, Panipat, Haryana – 7 Gold Medals & 6 Cash Prizes, Dr.Prakhar Gupta, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh – 2 Gold Medals & 1 Cash Prize, Dr.Sandra Anna Sam, Alappuzha, Kerala – 1 Gold Medal & 2 Cash Prize, Dr.Yashika Sharma, North West, Delhi, 1 Gold Medal, Dr.Sneha Manosh Kumar, Bangalore Urban, Karnataka – 2 Cash Prize, Dr.Sharanya Bose, New Delhi – 1 Cash Prize, Dr.Dyuksha Arora, West Delhi, Delhi – 1 Cash Prize Best Teacher and Research Excellence Awards were bestowed to the following teaching faculty by Registrar Dr.B.Manjunatha, Controller of Examination Dr.Sudeendra Bhat, Dr.H.Basavanagowdappa, Vice Chancellor & Dr.Prashant Vishwanath, Dean Research, JSSAHER. Research excellence Awardees: 1. Dr.Prasanna K Santhekadur, Professor, Dept of Biochemistry - For highest number of publications as first / Corresponding author in 2025, 2. Dr.Akila Prashant, Professor & Head, Dept of Biochemistry - For highest number of Citations in 2025, 3. Dr.Sushma P., Asst Prof. & Coordinator, Dept of Health Technology & Data Science – For Best Research Paper (Dr.Y.T.Thatachari Endowment Prize) Address by the Chief Guest: Dr.M.K.Ramesh addressing the graduating students, he emphasized that graduation day marks not the end of their learning journey, but the true beginning of their professional careers in medicine. He congratulated them for acquiring essential clinical skills through countless hours spent in hospital wards, acknowledging their dedication, perseverance, and commitment. The Chief Guest elaborated on the rapid advancements in medical technology, citing examples such as telemedicine, the transition from open surgeries to laparoscopic procedures, and the growing role of robotics in modern medicine. He encouraged students to stay prepared for future innovations that will further transform healthcare delivery. In conclusion, his address served as both a reflection on the students’ achievements and a call to action for their future roles as compassionate, skilled, and responsible medical professionals. Dr.C.G.Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha released annual college magazine, SAMARTHYA. Dr.Mantappa.M, Vice Principal (Clinicals), proposed the vote of thanks and the program concluded with the National Anthem. The programme was followed by cultural events by the blend of teachers & graduating students.
