Dr. Meenakshi S, Department of Prosthodontics, JSS Dental College & Hospital, attended the 53rd Indian Prosthodontic Society (IPS) Conference and successfully conducted a Pre-Conference Course (PCC) titled “Overcoming Challenges in Cast Partial Denture: Critical Thinking, Strategic Planning, and Designing – From Conventional to Digital.” The conference was held at Navi Mumbai from 3rd to 7th December 2025
The PCC was designed with the objective of strengthening the conceptual, analytical, and practical competencies of postgraduate students in the planning and fabrication of Cast Partial Dentures (CPDs). The scientific content highlighted a structured methodology focusing on critical evaluation, strategic design formulation, and the incorporation of digital technologies into conventional prosthodontic workflows
The course addressed common clinical and laboratory challenges associated with CPD design and execution. Special emphasis was placed on bridging the gap between traditional methodologies and the rapidly evolving digital solutions in prosthodontics, enabling learners to gain clarity, confidence, and enhanced problem-solving skills
The successful conduct of this PCC provided increased academic visibility for JSS Dental College & Hospital (JSSDCH) and JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSSAHER). It reflects the institutions’ continued commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and meaningful engagement at prominent national professional platforms. The positive feedback from participants further underscored the relevance and impact of the course in enhancing competencies among budding prosthodontists
