Department of Anatomy conducted “Hands on CADAVERIC ANATOMY WORKSHOP on September 13, 2024, for Sri Pathanjali yoga trainers. The workshop started with the immense blessing of His Holiness Mahaswamiji and lighting of the lamp by Dr. Vidya CS Professor and head and Mr Satyanarayan and Mr. Gopal Krishna. The lecture commenced with a brief introduction of this event by Dr. Vidya CS. She gave overview on importance of Anatomy and in association with yoga. This workshop explored the intricate relationship between the nervous system and the practice of yoga, shedding light on how yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditation can positively influence brain and nervous system function. Dr. Maruthy Prasad, Assistant Professor, explained about Musculoskeletal system. Tutors and Postgraduates of Anatomy department illustrated the specimens of Upper limb, Lower limb, Thorax, Abdomen, Head and Neck Understanding anatomy in yoga helps ensure a safer and more effective practice by improving body awareness, preventing injuries, and enhancing the benefits of each pose. It allows for better alignment, personalized adjustments, and a deeper mind-body connection, ultimately leading to a more mindful and sustainable yoga practice.
