The IPR Cell is a core vertical of the Innovation & Technology Transfer Office (ITTO) at JSSAHER. It supports faculty, researchers, and students in protecting intellectual property arising from research and innovation.

The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell at JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSSAHER), Mysuru, is a central unit established to promote, facilitate, protect, and manage the intellectual property (IP) generated through research and innovation across the university.

Functioning under the Office of Research, the IPR Cell plays a vital role in supporting faculty, staff, students, and inventors in safeguarding and commercializing their intellectual creations. The Cell provides end-to-end guidance, from invention disclosure to IP filing and technology transfer, thereby fostering a robust culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the university ecosystem.

What the IPR Cell Does

  • Facilitates patent, design, copyright, and trademark filings
  • Reviews invention disclosures and coordinates prior-art searches
  • Manages IP prosecution, renewals, and statutory compliance
  • Supports FER responses, legal documentation, and IP agreements
  • Builds IP awareness through training and workshops
