About JSS Dental College
JSS Dental College & Hospital, Mysuru has committed itself to become a center for excellence in Dental Education and a world leader in the field of Dental Sciences including hospital practice with the objective of strengthening the health care of the country. `JSS Dental College and Hospital` is located in the city of Mysuru, Karnataka State, South India. Mysuru is known for palaces and gardens and is about 150 kms from Bengaluru. Easily reachable both by roads and railways. The Dental College was established in 1986-87 and is at present conducting BDS and MDS courses in Nine special divisions, and Post Graduate Diploma in five specialities.
The College is recognized by both the Dental Council of India and the Government of India. It is affiliated to the JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSSAHER), Mysuru from 2008-09. Earlier it was affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, from 1996-97 and it was affiliated to the University of Mysore from 1986-87. The college is located in a JSS Medical Institutions Campus spread across over 38 acres. 5 acres of the total land is exclusively demarcated for the Dental College & Hospital. Separate hostel facilities are provided for both the boy and girl students.

About the Department
Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics was established in 1986. The department's goal is to diagnose and treat dental caries and associated complications, as well as tooth deformities and discolorations, in order to restore teeth to full function in an aesthetically acceptable way. The department features a modern design with modern dental units, a radiography room, and the most up-to-date instruments and dental materials. A steady supply of patients for clinical training, skill development, and research requirements during the clinical phase for both undergraduate and postgraduate students is ensured by well-organized and high-quality dental treatment methods. The department has a dedicated and experienced faculty who are all committed to quality in education, patient care, intellectual activities, and research. Attending, participating in, and administering continuing professional development events to expand and enrich professional knowledge is also emphasised.
Undergraduate students are taught how to treat dental caries, other abnormalities, and root canals. To satisfy the cosmetic needs of patients, postgraduate students are taught in comprehensive clinical care techniques such as direct and indirect aesthetic restorations, bleaching, veneers, and crowns. They are also trained in root canal therapy, regenerative techniques, endodontic operations, and micro endodontics to reduce pain and remove infection from teeth. The department has devoted teachers who are actively involved in teaching, research, and clinical programmes. CDE programmes are regularly held and attended by staff and students in order to improve and broaden their knowledge.
