Special Interest Group - Dental Materials

Dental materials have undergone an exponential growth during the past decade. Advancement in the field of polymers has reflected on the quality of dental restorative materials drastically. Emphasis on the safe application of the restorative material is vital for the success of the treatment outcome.

This Special Interest Group (SIG) focuses on carrying out research in developing new techniques for fabrication of novel dental materials, conducting collaborative avenues, translate research to clinical applications and create awareness in the dental fraternity by the means of continuous dialogue and demonstrations. Biocompatibility of the restorative material and its biological impact also remains as one of its prime objectives.

' Recent Advancements in Regenerative Dentistry' & "ARTistry - ART Revisited" was organized by SIG : Quality & Safe use of Dental Materials , JSS Dental College & Hospital , Mysuru , moderated by Dr Nandlal Bhojraj , Professor & Head , Department of Pedodontics Dr Seema Deshmukh , Reader , Department of Pedodontics & Dr Ravindra S , Principal JSS Dental College & Hospital.

The Speakers were : Dr Sphoorthi Anup Belludi , Professor & Head , Department of Periodontics and Implantology , KLE Society's Institute of Dental Sciences, Bangalore & Dr Rani James , Senior Scientist , DiponEd BioIntelligence , Bangalore.

Mr Ankur Chawla , Director (Sales) , Crudasers technologies gave the insights on Air Purifier : Breathe Easy. The Webinar was attended by Undergraduates , Faculty Post-Graduates & Private dental practitioners .

Dr Chandramouli , Manager : Academic & Scientific Affairs at GC India spoke about the Atraumatic Restorative Technique & also introduced a new GC Product GIC Hybrid first time on an online platform .
