Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs (PRA) is a vital unit in a pharmaceutical company that successfully drives the Research & Development (R&D) efforts of the company to the market. The regulatory department works with a focus to get products to the market with a commercially viable label, in the least possible time and expense. In view of the increasing global competitiveness among pharmaceutical companies, the key to success lies in obtaining timely marketing approval from the Regulatory agencies of the region where the drug is to be sold. Various government agencies are involved in regulating drugs within their market. The outcome of the program is to make available a pool of competent professionals in the area of Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs with fundamental knowledge on : Various Good Regulatory Practices in the Healthcare and related industries, Documentation and general principles involved in regulatory writing and submission to agencies ,Audit, inspections, Quality management system and Product Life Cycle Management, Clinical drug development and research regulations in India, EU and US, Regulations for Drugs, Cosmetics, Medical Devices, Herbals, Biologics, Food and Nutraceuticals in various countries like India, EU, US, Canada, Japan, ASEAN, etc.,
The Objectives of PRA is to prepare professionals for regulatory affairs positions in pharmaceutical sectors, to facilitate the students knowledge with proper foundation in advancing them in the regulatory profession, provide fundamental basics as per industrial requirement in the field of regulatory affairs, keeping track of everchanging legislation in all regions, update students with thorough and up-to-date knowledge of global laws and regulations applicable in various stages of drug development, theoretical and practical knowledge in preparing, compiling and submitting required documents as per industry and regulatory authority needs for the registration of health care products.
A candidate who has passed B. Pharm degree examination from any recognized University and has secured not less than 55% of the maximum marks (aggregate)

Dr. R.Sureshkumar is an associate professor and Course Coordinator department of pharmaceutics. His research focuses on self nanoemulsifying drug delivery system for poorly soluble drugs for the past one decade including nanoemulgel for topical application.
To his credit he has 01 patent filed under Intellectual property of India for oral delivery of statin derivatives and awarded with patent as one of the investigator for 'Method of proocessing Nanoemulgel comprising terbinafine or its salt form for mycotic infections'. Published research articles in reputed journals viz., Current drug delivery, Medical hypothesis , Acta Tropica , RSC Advances,Journal of Pharmaceutical Investigation, Journal of Bioequivalence and Bioavailability, Asian Journal Pharmaceutics to name some.
He has been recognised as guide to supervise Ph.D., candidates under JSSAHER, Mysuru. Under his supervision for the Ph.D., Research work his candidates are awrded with ICMR, Lady TATA and JSSAHER. Also his candidates are awarded with TNSCST and Taminadu Pharmacist welfare association grants for Post graduate research works.
Authored a chapter titled ' p-glycoprotein efflux transporters its resistance, inhibitors and terapeutic aspects' in the book titled 'Creatinine a comprehensive update'

He is interested in developing delivery system for the plant based flavonoids which helps in the recrudescence of malaria and cancer. He is currently involved in lipid based delivery system to combat malaria and its resistance.
