Doctor of Pharmacy - Post Baccalaureate
Pharm.D – PB is a professional doctorate program tailored for those who want to have a prosperous career in healthcare across the globe. This practice intensive post baccalaureate program trains the BPharm graduates in advanced clinical sciences with unique courseworks. The ‘Clerkship’ and ‘Internship’ are the pharmacy practice experience courses / training that hone the expertise in the professional pharmacy practice. Opportunities to undergo training in the leading hospitals, both nationally and globally help the graduates to explore wide spectrum of clinical pharmacy services. The dissertation research project of six months duration allows to choose a research domain and shall be a foundation for the professional career. Dr. Arun KP graduated in Pharmacy in 1995 from JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty and acquired his M.Pharm. from University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kakatiya University, Warangal through AICTE sponsored quality improvement program for pharmacy teachers in 2006. After about 10 years of UG experience, he joined JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty in 2006 in the department of Pharmacy Practice as a Lecturer with research experience gained at CMC Hospital, Vellore as his credit and later elevated as an Assistant Professor in 2011. He was awarded Ph.D. by JSS University, Mysuru in 2013. He has obtained ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Management’ (PGDIM) and ‘Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management’ (PGDMM) from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He has also completed the certificate course in ‘Principles of Clinical Pharmacology’ offered by National Institute of Health, USA. He was a ‘Pharmabridge’ fellow of International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) and undergone training in ‘Pediatric Clinical Pharmacy Practice’ at Children’s Hospital of Easter Ontario, Ottawa, Canada. His research interests in the areas of Clinical Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacometrics, and Pharmacogenetics enabled him to attend the Summer School on Pharmacometrics of Uppsala University, Sweden in 2013 with the international scholarship from M/s. Novartis. He has guided about 22 dissertations at PG level and 5 at UG level and guiding six Ph.D. scholars. His research projects have won meritorious awards for 10 times at state and national levels. He has about 26 research papers at both national and international journals and presented papers in scientific meetings nationally and internationally. The book chapter ‘Pharmacy Practice in India’ co-authored by him with Dr. G Parthasarathy has been published in the ‘Encyclopedia of Pharmacy Practice’ published by Elsevier.
