A residency can provide the clinical knowledge and experience necessary for pharmacists to be successful in a specialty practice. Residency training experience will be essential to be competitive in the job market of Clinical Pharmacist now and in the future. Further, the residency will provide credentials and experience that will help candidates to stand out among the other candidates. Usually, the clinical pharmacists work in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings. They spend little time dispensing prescriptions. Instead, they are involved in direct patient care. Clinical pharmacists may go on ward rounds in a hospital with a physician or healthcare team. They recommend medications to give to patients and oversee the dosage and timing of the delivery of those medications. Specific to this program, the resident will be trained in promoting appropriate cancer care therapy.
