M. Pharm Pharmaceutical Biotechnology is a postgraduate degree programme that explores the Biotechnological aspects of the field of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical industry. This programme deals with the study of therapeutic application of Biotechnology that uses biological systems, living organisms, or derivatives thereof, to make or modify the drugs from various sources as well as to help in disease diagnosis, tissue engineering and develop transgenic plants and animals with added therapeutic values. The main objective of this programme is to provide a balanced and comprehensive knowledge of the basic as well as applied aspects related to Pharmaceutical Biotechnology that would enhance the basic aptitude of each student and prepare them to take up the challenges in the varied and multi-faceted applications of Pharmaceutical Biotechnology in drug development, drug discovery, disease diagnosis and prognosis. It will empower the students with the latest tools, techniques and awareness in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and will facilitate comprehensive learning combining the scientific and technological aspects. This course also sensitizes the students to critical regulatory issues in field of pharmaceutical biotechnology and trained in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, which provide important data-analysis and -management tools in the post-genomic era.
B. Pharm Degree examination of an Indian university established by law in India from an institution approved by Pharmacy Council of India and has scored not less than 55 % of the maximum marks (aggregate of 4 years of B.Pharm.)
