The Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) is measured as performance of work done by the student in a semester. The Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is measured as cumulative performance of a student in all semesters in the courses taken by the student. The mission of the postgraduate diploma in Environment, Health and Safety management at Department of Water & Health is to promote excellence amongst our postgraduate staff and students through responsive teaching, research and supervision, scholarship and instructional pastoral support.
The main objective of the courses offered is interdisciplinary in nature that enables over all student development and enhanced learning experience. Each course paper provides hands-on- experience that translates theory to practical. The curriculum is supported with field trips, industrial visits, other extension, and extracurricular activities wherever required. Dr. Shivaraju H.P has special knowledge in preparation and characterization of catalytic nanomaterials for sustainable environmental applications (Photoelectrocatalysis/electrocatalysis) such as removal/treatment of emerging pollutants in water and air, energy production and antimicrobial activity, CO2 reduction into useful compounds, intensification of methan yield in biomethanation (photo-electrochemicl reduction), etc. He has well experienced in the comprehensive study on evidence of accumulation of contaminants of emerging concern (CECs), including persisting organic pollutants (POPs), pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) and trace metals in environment. Development of novel water/wastewater reclamation techniques (Photoelectrocatalysis/electrocatalysis AOP, self sustaining hybrid processes, multi-functional membrenes, point-of-use advance filters, etc), Alternative energy research (Electrochemical conversion of CO2 into CH4/value added organic compounds, Electrocatalysis interfaced Hybrid Biomethanation, Biochemical Electrocatalysis [Microbial fuel-cell]), Integrated water resource management (water quality monitoring, technological frameworks for catchment management, pollution remediation techniques (self-sustaining) by utilization of solar-energy, Conceptual models with integration of Citizen Science (participatory), and monitoring (GIS-RS) approaches), and Fate, transportation & remediation of CECs are his special interests in research. He has developed sustainable technologies for remediation and treatment of POPs, PPCPs, trace metals, industrial dyes, hazard organics, pathogens etc in environment (water & air) using alternative and renewable energy sources and technology transformation for the social benefit. He has synthesized various advanced photocatalytic nanomaterials like doped metal oxides, nanocomposites, polymer blends, hybrid co-catalyst systems, and supporting catalytic materials under different synthetic methods like hydrothermal, salvothermal and sol-gel techniques. The nanoarchitecture and in-situ modification strategies for all of these nanomaterials were optimized for ideal catalytic applications by exploring efficient synthetic routes and potential modifiers. He has successfully demonstrated efficient treatment/removal methods for the hazardous pollutants and pathogens in water and wastewater by employing those catalytic nanomaterials. He has successfully developed solar-light responsible metal-oxide based nanocomposites for sustainable utilization of the natural sunlight as a major energy source for environmental remediation applications. He has prepared various nanostructures and nanocomposites such as TiO2/FeO3, CeO2/TiO2, ZnO/Al2O3/SiO2, PU/TiO2, etc for applications of sustainable renewable energy production processes such as biogas production, hydrogen production and solar light harvesting. He is actively involved in designing and eco-friendly synthetic novel routes for advance nanoparticles using bio-solvents, surfactants and conditioner as an effective capping and properties controlling agents. He has good expertise in the material characterization and analytical techniques like UV-Vis spectrometry, FTIR, powder XRD, ICP-MS, GC-MS, SEM, TEM, PALS, PL, Zeta potential, GC-MS, HPLC, AAS, etc. In addition, he has carried out many research works related to the environmental issues like impact and risk assessment, environmental remediation, hazardous waste management (waste to energy), climate change and CO2 mitigation approaches, industrial pollution and public health, biodiversity and conservation, integrated water resource management and governance, etc.

I am interested in human wildlife conflicts within the broad context of biodiversity and conservation. My research is question-driven and has included both animals and humans. Last couple of years my research has focused on the effects of conflicts on elephants and also perception of human being towards elephant conflict . In addressing these problems I have conducted survey in the field, and my approach has relied extensively on the of quantitative techniques. A second focal area of research has been the microbial action on degradation of pesticides.
Dr.Lingaraju HG, working as Assistant Professor in the Division of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Life Sciences, JSS AHER, Mysuru. He obtained the graduation and post graduation from in Environmental Sciences, from University of Mysuru, Mysuru, Karnataka. prior to joining in this prestigious JSS AHER, he worked as a lecturer in the various institutions for more than 8 years. He completed his Ph.D. from University of Mysuru, Mysuru. His area of research mainly focused on Biodiversity and conservation. He his having more than 7 publication in his credentials and his research findings were well appreciated in scientific bodies. He holds Professional and scientific memberships in both national and International societies. His research area mainly focusing on wildlife conflict related issues and soil microbiology. Dr.Lingaraju HG has so for successfully guided 10 master degree project students through their dissertation. He has currently one Ph.D. candidate carrying out research under his supervision.

Dr. Divya J. is working as an Assisstant Professor in Enviornmental Science, DEpartment of Water and Health, Facukty of Life Sciences, JSSAHER. She has completed her M. Sc. with first class from Department of Environmental Science, University of Mysore. She cleared NET examination for Lectureship in 2007 and JRF in 2008.She got Sernior Research Fellowship in 2013 and completed her Ph.D in 2016. Her area of research in the field of Nutrient management and soil reclamation. She taught for UG and PG students almost nine years. She has completed Doctor of Philosophy in Environmental Science under the supervision of Dr. S.L.Belagali. She has published more than 10 research papers in international journals of repute. She has guided 3 candidates for their M.Sc disseration and she holds a major research project from JSSAHER as a part of FIP. Also she hold professional membership in many national organizations. In addition to this, she has participated in many lecture series, workshops and presented research papers in national and international conferences. She is familiar with the Enviornemntal monitoring techniques. she has perseverance, high integrity is sure with her determination she can complete any assignment given to her. She has a good zeal towards research. She is well versed in techniques involved in Environmental Science.
