Dr. Chandan. S., working as Assistant Professor for the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Faculty of Life Sciences, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research. He has been working for the past Seven and half years, he has cleared the UGC-SLET examination in Life Sciences. His research interest is Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, and Virology. He obtained Doctor of Philosophy in Biotechnology, wherein he worked on the diagnosis of Leptospirosis. In brief about the achievements, he worked in ICAR - National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics as a postgraduate research assistant under All India Network Project (AINP) for two and half years and worked as a UGC-Project Fellow and ICMR-Senior Research Fellow for three years in the year 2010 to 2013. During the doctoral studies, he worked in the Molecular diagnostics of Leptospira and its management. He was exposed to various molecular techniques. The thesis objectives have been published in reputed journals. Recently, received the Young Scientist award in the scheme of the Young Scientist Scheme (YSS) from DST-SERB and as well, best poster awards at national conferences and seminars. As Genomics, Proteomics, and Bioinformatics has the area of research Interest, he would like to work for and guide the younger students in the same field to develop a band of future researchers.

Dr. P. Saravanan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru. He is a computational biologist and bioinformatician with over 20 years of research experience, committed to advancing education, interdisciplinary research, and innovation by integrating computational biology, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, and data science to address emerging challenges in life sciences and healthcare.
His research interests include protein sequence–structure–dynamics–function relationships, molecular modelling, structural bioinformatics, computer-driven drug discovery and design, molecular dynamics simulations, and AI-driven computational approaches for understanding biological systems and accelerating translational research. He has expertise in protein modelling, molecular docking, virtual screening, molecular dynamics simulations, and scientific programming using Python, Perl, and Linux.
Dr. Saravanan obtained his Ph.D. in Biotechnology (Specialization: Bioinformatics) from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati and was awarded the prestigious UGC Dr. D. S. Kothari Postdoctoral Fellowship. Further, He has four years of postdoctoral research at Gyeongsang National University and the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Republic of Korea.
As an educator, he is committed to creating an engaging, research-oriented learning environment that promotes analytical thinking, scientific inquiry, and interdisciplinary problem-solving. He actively mentors undergraduate and postgraduate students, fostering innovation and preparing them for careers in academia, industry, and research.
