Dr. Siddesha JM earned M.Sc and Ph.D degrees in Biochemistry from University of Mysore. He has more than seven years of postdoctoral research experience (Tulane University and University of Vermont, USA, and University of Agricultural Sciences-Bengaluru, GKVK, India). His research expertise include hypertension, hypertensive heart diseases, lung inflammation and fibrosis. Over the years, his research focus remained in hypertension and hypertensive heart diseases, identification of biomarkers and molecular mechanisms associated with RECK and TRAF3IP2 in hypertension-induced cardiovascular diseases. He has also worked on bioactive molecules including peptides and flavonoids exhibiting antihypertensive and cardioprotective activity. To his credit, he has been awarded extramural startup research grants from DST-SERB and UGC, and JSS AHER for the cardiovascular research. Moreover, he has proven as a team member in research on inflammation, atherosclerosis, snake venom pharmacology, and clinical enzymes. So far, he has published 21 peer-reviewed research articles and 3 book chapters, having 734 citations, 16 h-index and 19 i10 index. He has also organized few scientific meetings including seminars, conferences and a workshop. Moreover, he has presented research findings at international and national scientific meetings. He also serves as reviewer for scientific journals and as a member in academic and professional societies.
Currently, Dr. Siddesha is looking forward for the interested, enthusiastic and scientifically oriented students/aspirants to mentor for their doctorate degree in Life Sciences.
