Successful completion of this programme will enhance employment prospects within the functional foods, general food & health sector and from food manufacture to retail and legislation. A Post Graduate Diploma in Nutraceuticals is also relevant for nutritionists, dietitians, and members of pharmaceutical professions, as well as professional from independent or private laboratories. The diploma provides graduates with professional competencies related to either research and development, quality control, analysis, education or training. Dr. Sudha Sairam, currently working as Assistant Professor at Department of Nutrition & Dietetics- FLS, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Mysore. She completed her PhD (Food Science and Nutrition) in the year 2014 at the University of Mysore, and has about more than 12 years of research and teaching experience.
She is recipient of BBSRC Fellowship, under BBSRC - India Partnering Award scheme and has gained experience working at Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, University of Manchester, Manchester, UK (April – July 2014).
Her job profile includes working as Guest Facuty at Depatment of Food Science & Nutrition, University of Mysore, Mysore (2014 - 15), followed by as Senior Medical Writer at BioQuest Innovations Ltd., Bangalore (2015), later as Research Scientist at Department of Medical Informatics, St. Johns Research Institute, Bangalore (2015-18).
Her area of specialization are formulation and clinical trials of health and disease specific functional foods, Phytochemistry, Pharmacology of diabetes and associated co-morbidities, Neutraceutical, Maternal and child health.
She has delivered Special Lectures and as Invited speaker at symposium / conference held at Department of Food Science and Nutrition, University of Mysore, Mysore and Manipal University of Higher Education and Research, Dubai respectively . Has published more than 20 papers at peer reviewed International and national journals, presented over 60 research papers at various national and international, and has secured 8 Best Research paper awards at national and international conferences.
