JSS Dental College & Hospital, Mysuru, conducted a one-day cleanliness and hygiene drive under the Kayakalp initiative as part of Special Campaign 6 on 27 October 2026. The initiative reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy hospital environment. The campaign focused on promoting effective sanitation practices, personal hygiene, biomedical waste management, and infection prevention and control measures

The initiative supported the objectives of the Kayakalp programme and emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and patient safety in accordance with applicable National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) standards

As part of the campaign, Dr. Sathish R. conducted informative sessions for hospital housekeeping staff, Environmental Services (EVS) workers, house surgeons, and BDS students on infection prevention and control. The sessions highlighted the importance of personal hygiene, proper sanitation, hand hygiene, and adherence to infection control protocols in the hospital environment

Dr. Pradeep, NSS Programme Officer, and Dr. Alok, Assistant Programme Officer, created awareness about sanitation, hygiene, and cleanliness through the NSS Dental Unit. Their initiative emphasized the importance of community participation, social responsibility, and collective efforts in promoting a clean and healthy environment

The successful organization of the campaign was supported by the guidance and encouragement of Principal Dr. Dakshayini M. R. and Vice Principal Dr. Jaishankar, whose leadership continues to foster a culture of cleanliness, quality improvement, and patient safety at JSS Dental College & Hospital

The campaign reinforced the significance of cleanliness, sanitation, hand hygiene, and proper biomedical waste management in preventing infections and ensuring patient safety. It also encouraged staff and students to adopt good hygiene practices and actively contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy hospital environment
