JSSCP, Ooty - Glad to share that, the Dept of Pharm. Chemistry successfully organized the CSIR, New Delhi sponsored outreach programme “Pink Hope: Breast Cancer Awareness and Early Detection for Tribal Women” on Oct 10–11, 2026, at Thengumarahada, a remote tribal village in the mudumalai tiger reserve in the Nilgiris.

The progam focused on breast cancer awareness, prevention, early detection, and timely medical care. Resource persons Dr.P.Kanagambal, HoD, Govt. Arts College, Ooty, Mr.G.Saravanan, All India Radio and Dr. Anusha, Dentist shared valuable insights on preventive healthcare.

Additionally, 100 kit bags were distributed, and lunch was provided to 200 beneficiaries. The initiative was appreciated by the villagers and Ms.M. Sukuna, Panchayat President.
