The MOLBIO Club was inaugurated on 9 September 2026 at Gallery 6, JSS Medical College, Mysuru, under the aegis of the Division of Molecular Biology and the Special Interest Group – Reproductive Neuroendocrinology Research, School of Life Sciences, Mysuru. The initiative marks an important step towards creating a vibrant platform for students, researchers, and faculty members to engage with emerging developments in molecular biology and allied areas. The inaugural program was complemented by an enlightening technical talk on “Overview of ONT Platforms and Their Applications in Human Health and Diagnosis”, delivered by Dr. Lamuk Zaveri. The session provided an informative overview of Oxford Nanopore Technology (ONT) platforms and their growing significance in contemporary molecular biology. The talk highlighted the applications of ONT-based sequencing in human health, disease diagnosis, genomic analysis, and biomedical research, offering participants valuable insights into the rapidly evolving landscape of sequencing technologies. The program was conducted under the presidential presence of Dr. Vishal Kumar Gupta, Dean Academics, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru. His presence and encouragement added significance to the occasion and underscored the importance of promoting innovative learning and research-oriented initiatives within the academic environment. The Gathering was also addressed by Dr Raveesha KA, Dean and Head School of Lifesciences Mysuru and Dr Kanthesh M Basalingappa, Course coordinator, Division of Molecular Biology, SLSM, JSSAHER, Mysuru; highlighting the need for involvement in research.
