The School of Public Health, JSS Medical College, is proud to announce that seven MPH students have been awarded Research Seed Money Grants by JSS AHER for the academic year 2025–26, with a total grant support of Rs.1,51,399. The awardees include Ms. Afsa (Rs. 24,500) for a study on domestic violence against women; Mr. Anil Kumar R. (Rs. 9,300) for research on occupational hazards and quality of life among medical laboratory technicians; Mr. Bhimanagouda S. Basanagoudar (Rs. 23,591) for a study on air pollution and nutritional status among under-five children; and Likitha V. K. (Rs. 25,000) for research on indoor air pollution and cognitive function among women.Dr. Niharika T. J. (Rs. 23,000) will study the effectiveness of social support groups among female cancer survivors; Mr. Soundhar Rajan (Rs. 23,508) will examine heat exposure, occupational stress, sleep quality, and nutritional outcomes among construction workers; and Mr. Jerin Saji Abraham (Rs. 22,500) will conduct a mixed-method study on postpartum depression among women. The School of Public Health congratulates all the student awardees and their faculty mentors on this achievement and wishes them success in conducting impactful, community-relevant public health research.
