
JSS Dental College & Hospital, a constituent college of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), organized an online awareness session on 'Financial Literacy and Financial Fraud' on 7 August 2026 for interns and postgraduate students. The programme aimed to enhance participants' understanding of financial literacy, responsible financial management, and the importance of protecting themselves against the increasing threat of digital financial fraud
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Brinda S. Godhi, who welcomed the dignitaries, participants, and the resource persons. The session was graced by Dr. Dhakshaini M. R., Principal, Dr. Jaishankar H. P., Vice Principal, and Mr. Aniket Mohite, Senior Business Development Manager, Pagdandi Edusol Pvt. Ltd., along with the interns and postgraduate students
The resource person, Ms. Stuti Nijhawan, delivered an engaging and insightful session on the fundamentals of financial literacy. She emphasized the importance of saving, investing, budgeting, and effective financial planning while encouraging students to cultivate sound financial habits early in their careers to ensure long-term financial well-being
A key highlight of the programme was the session on financial fraud awareness, during which participants were educated about common cyber threats, including phishing attacks, UPI scams, OTP frauds, identity theft, and other forms of digital financial fraud. The speaker also shared practical strategies for safeguarding personal financial information, identifying fraudulent activities, and adopting safe digital banking and online transaction practices
The programme witnessed the participation of 34 interns and postgraduate students, who actively engaged in the interactive session by raising queries and discussing real-life financial and cyber security concerns. The programme significantly enhanced participants' awareness of responsible financial practices and digital financial safety
The session concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research for organizing a timely and relevant awareness programme.
