The NSS Unit, JSS College of Pharmacy, in association with the Department of Pharmaceutics, organised a discussion on gender inequality in education, prevailing socioeconomic conditions, and the village of Srirangapatna taluk, Mandya district, on 25th March 2026 at 5.30 pm. Dr Preethi S, Assistant Professor of the Department of Pharmaceutics, organised the skit with active participation from II Pharm students. The skit effectively highlighted the importance of health insurance policies for improving public health and emphasised the utilisation of various government and non-government health insurance schemes available. The state of Karnataka offers several government health insurance programs, including the Vajpayee Arogyashree, Yeshaswini Scheme, Rajiv Arogya Bhagya Scheme, Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY), RSBY for senior citizens, Rashtriya Bala Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), Mukhyamantri Santwana Harish Scheme, Indira Suraksha Yojana, and the Cochlear Implant Scheme. These schemes will all be integrated under the new Arogya Karnataka Scheme. The Arogya Karnataka Scheme is a cashless, seamless, and comprehensive healthcare initiative that covers both Allopathy and AYUSH systems of medicine. Its main objective is to provide Universal Health Coverage to all residents of Karnataka. This new scheme will offer primary healthcare as well as specified secondary and tertiary healthcare benefits.
