Ayush has unveiled “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” as the official theme for International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026. The program commenced with a meaningful initiative of planting two saplings in the Rose Garden of JSSMC, symbolizing harmony with nature and promoting environmental awareness. This was followed by a rejuvenating yoga session held in the college auditorium, aimed at fostering physical, mental, and emotional well-being among participants. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Principal Dr. Narayanappa D and Administrative Officer Mr. Satish Chandra. Faculty members and students from the Departments of Physiology, Community Medicine, and Pharmacology actively participated in the celebration. The program was coordinated with the support of NSS Program Officers Dr. Manu G and Mr. Manjunatha H N, along with Physical Instructor Mr. Lokeshappa. The yoga session witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 150 attendees, reflecting the growing awareness and importance of yoga in daily life. The event concluded on a pleasant note with breakfast for all participants, encouraging interaction and a sense of community. Overall, the celebration was a great success, emphasizing the significance of yoga as a holistic approach to health and well-being.
