JSSCP, Ooty - The Dept of Pharmacy Practice SPIRIT HUB - COMPASS organised lectures, discussions & project reviews on June 11-12, 2026 by Dr D.R.Krishna, Visiting Professor & Co-Director, Jie Du Center for Innovation & Excellence for Drug Development, University of the Pacific, USA who is one of the senior most clinical pharmacologists with about 5 decades of experience in both academia and pharma industry.

The first lecture for the Research Scholars focused on “Academic Curiosity to Clinical Breakthroughs: The Drug Discovery Odyssey”, provided insights into the journey of drug discovery, translational research, and innovation in healthcare.

The second lecture for IV–VI Pharm.D students on “Pharmacogenomics: Evolving Era of Precision Medicine”, highlighted the role of genetic variability in drug response and the growing importance of personalized medicine in clinical practice.

The team COMPASS had a session on “Pharmacometrics (PMx) Round Table with Dr DRK” that offered valuable perspectives about PMx in drug development, precision medicine, research careers, software & tools, and emerging opportunities for research & consultancy.

Dr DRK also reviewed the ongoing research projects in PMx and given his valuable inputs. Overall his visit & aura energized the Team COMPASS.
