The Department of Periodontology, JSS Dental College and Hospital (JSSDCH), a constituent college of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSSAHER), Mysuru, has brought laurels to the institution by securing top positions at the 19th World Dental Sciences and Oral Health Conference 2026, held on 5th and 6th June 2026 at Manav Rachna Dental College, Delhi NCR

The conference was organized by the Pierre Fauchard Academy (Section At Large) in collaboration with CynoDent and the Indian Society of Dentistry, bringing together researchers, academicians, and clinicians from across the country to share advancements in dental sciences and oral healthcare

Among the notable achievements, Dr. Amishaa Jalan, III Year Postgraduate Student, secured First Position in the Online Scientific Paper Presentation category for her research titled “Evaluating the Efficacy of a Novel Phytochemical Artemisia nilagirica in the Treatment of Periodontitis: An Ex-vivo Study,” under the guidance of Dr. Suman Basavaraju, Professor and Head, Department of Periodontology. Dr. Rakshitha S., III Year Postgraduate Student, also secured First Position in the Online Scientific Paper Presentation category for her presentation titled “Minimally Invasive Root Coverage with Vestibular Incision Subperiosteal Tunnel Access and Collagen Membrane: A Clinical Case Report,” under the guidance of Dr. Pratibha Shashikumar, Reader, Department of Periodontology. Dr. Muskan Aggarwal, III Year Postgraduate Student, secured Second Position for presenting her research titled “Assessment of Vitamin D Levels Using a Chairside Diagnostic Kit in Diabetics and Non-Diabetics with Chronic Periodontitis.” Dr. Christina Amy Mathews, Faculty Member and Ph.D. Scholar, secured Third Position in the Online Scientific Paper Presentation category for her research titled “A Silver Touch to Acrylic Dentures: Can Nanoparticles be the Key to Periodontal Health
