
The International Centre of Environment and Sustainability (ICESu), Department of Environmental Sciences, Eco-Club, and the School of Life Sciences, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru, successfully organized a student-led workshop and panel discussion on “Urban Water Governance and Sustainability – Mysuru Context” on 16 March 2026 in association with GRAM, NGO, along with a community outreach awareness programme in connection with World Water Day 2026. The workshop brought together experts and stakeholders to deliberate on sustainable urban water management and governance challenges. Expert perspectives were shared by Mallikarjun Swamy (GRAM), Sukprit Kaur (Aranya organization), and Dr. Champa H. S. (Mysore School of Architecture), who emphasized the importance of integrated, community-driven and participatory approaches to addressing urban water issues. An engaging panel discussion moderated by Dr. Shivaraju H. P. featured eminent experts including Dr. Basavaraju R. Shrestha (GRAM), G. D. Shankar (Mysore Corporarion), Er. U. N. Ravikumar (Water specilist), and Dr. Prakash Kulkarni (Bhageeratha organization). The session facilitated meaningful dialogue on governance frameworks, sustainability strategies, and practical pathways toward building water-resilient cities.
