The Department of Environmental Sciences, Eco-Club, and the International Center for Environment and Sustainability (ICESu), School of Life Sciences, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, celebrated World Environment Day 2026 on 5 June 2026. The highlight of the event was an inspiring lecture by Dr. Ashok Rao, Former Head, Network Project, DESE, IISc Bengaluru, and an expert in Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS). His talk, “Environment and Water: Learning from Indian Knowledge Systems,” emphasized traditional ecological wisdom, sustainable water management, and environmental conservation practices. The programme motivated students and researchers to adopt sustainable approaches for environmental protection and resource conservation.
