Research Bootcamp: Preparing for Internship and Dissertation in Life Sciences One-day workshop for Post graduate students April 8th, 2026 Wednesday 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM Organised by Research Cell, School of Life Sciences, Mysuru, JSS AHER, Mysuru A one-day workshop titled ‘Research Bootcamp: Preparing for Internship and Dissertation in Life Sciences’ was organised by Research Cell, School of Life Sciences, JSS AHER, Mysuru on April 8th, 2026 for post graduate students of Life Sciences particularly in the first year to orient and create awareness on internship, project work and research aptitude. The session was inaugurated by Dr. Raveesha KA, Head, School of Life Sciences who addressed the audience on the importance of internships and dissertation in Life Sciences. A special session was engaged by the Research Division of JSS AHER headed by Dean, Research Dr. Prashant Vishwanath, Deputy Dean Dr. Chandan S and Deputy Dean (IPR) Dr. Balamuralidhar V who gave an overview of facilities and funding opportunities at JSS AHER, research design, ethics, IPR and publications during dissertation and opportunities for higher education. Other talks included ‘how to get the right internship’, scientific writing and documentation, ethics approvals, statistical analysis and placements which was engaged by Dr. Dhivya P Kumar, Associate Professor, JSS Medical College; Dr. Anil Bilimale, Coordinator, School of Public health, Dr. Prathima C, Associate Professor, JSS Medical College and Dr. Stavelin Abhinandithe, Associate Professor, Division of Medical Statistics, SLSM, respectively. Overall, the day was filled with energy, enthusiasm and enriching sessions with the student community benefitting from the wide array of information. Many students received clarity in terms of career approach and the right direction towards internship and dissertation. More than 200 students participated in the Workshop. The workshop was conceptualised and organised by Dr. Archer, Ann Catherine with the support of Research team Dr. Mohan TC (Coordinator), Dr. Siddesha JM, Dr. Sudha Sairam and Dr. Anil Kumar KM.
