Health Rally, Mosambayahalli - 16-03-2026

National Service Scheme wing, JSS Medical College, Mysuru in collaboration with the Department of Community Medicine, JSS Medical College, JSS AHER, and Indian Cancer Society, Mysuru conducted a health rally under the Family Adoption Program on 16th March 2026 at MB halli from 9:30 AM to 01:00 PM. The rally was conducted at M.B. Halli village on World Tuberculosis Day to create awareness about tuberculosis, its prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment. The program was organized with the active participation of medical students as NSS volunteers along with faculty. The rally was inaugurated by Dr Prasad, Medical Officer, Varuna PHC, Mysuru. The rally began in the morning from the village entrance and proceeded through the main streets of M.B. Halli village. Participants carried placards displaying messages about the importance of early detection of tuberculosis, adherence to treatment, and the availability of free diagnosis and treatment under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP). During the rally, slogans promoting TB awareness and encouraging people to seek timely medical care were raised to engage the community. The volunteers also interacted with villagers and explained key points regarding the symptoms of tuberculosis such as persistent cough, fever, weight loss, and night sweats. Emphasis was placed on the importance of completing the full course of treatment to prevent drug-resistant tuberculosis. The rally received a positive response from the local community and helped spread awareness regarding tuberculosis and its prevention. Such community-based activities play an important role in strengthening public participation in national health programs and contribute toward the goal of eliminating tuberculosis. The program concluded successfully with the cooperation of NSS volunteers, faculty members, and the local community. The program was coordinated by Dr Manu G, NSS Program Officer, JSSMC, Mysuru, with the help of Dr Nandhana and Dr Monisha, postgraduates, Department of Pharmacology, JSSMC, along with the Faculty, Department of Community Medicine, JSSMC, Mysuru.
