We are pleased to share that Dr (Lt Col) Karthik Kanakoor, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry, JSS Medical College & Hospital, Mysuru, was invited as the Resource Person for a Guest Lecture at K S Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA), NITTE (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, organised by the KSHEMA Alumni Association. He delivered a lecture titled “From Medical College to the Battlefield: Life, Learning and Leadership in the Army Medical Corps”, sharing his journey as an alumnus (MBBS 2003–09 Batch) and his professional experiences in the Army Medical Corps (Indian Army). The session highlighted leadership development, discipline, resilience, operational decision-making, and the unique learning opportunities offered by military medicine. The talk also provided insights into career pathways within the Armed Forces Medical Services and their impact on clinical excellence, personality development, and academic growth. The lecture was conducted on Friday, 20th February 2026 at New Lecture Hall-1, KSHEMA, and was attended by students and faculty members, fostering meaningful academic interaction.
