On the occasion of the 54th National Conference of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) – DERMACON 2026, held at Clarks Exotica Convention Resort, Bengaluru, from 29 January to 1 February 2026, the Department of Dermatology, JSS Hospital, JSSAHER, headed by Dr Veeranna Shastri made a proud and impactful presence. The department contributed actively to the scientific program with one award paper presentation, four student e-poster presentations, three student free papers, faculty e-posters by Dr Ashwini PK, Dr Ranugha PSS and Dr Srilakshmi, faculty free paper by Senior Resident Dr Ashwini S reflecting strong academic engagement across all levels. Faculty members Dr Ashwini PK and Dr Ranugha PSS participated as panelists in panel discussions on Challenges in dermatophytosis management and ACAD-Bring your own case series respectively. Adding to the department’s accolades, Dr Kanthraj GR was conferred the prestigious Prof. Senthamil Selvi Award, while final year post graduate - Dr V Alok from the department was honoured with the prestigious Prof. B. N. Banerjee Medal for Best Original Research Paper. The SIG Leprosy and Skin NTDs, led by Dr Ranugha PSS, was also recognized with the 3rd Best SIG Award for the year 2025 by the IADVL National Academy. Adding to these achievements was the release of the IAL Handbook of Leprosy (2nd Edition), with Dr Ashwini PK as co-editor.
