The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at JSS Dental College & Hospital, a constituent college of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, celebrated International OMFS Day on 13th February 2026 at the Gowrishankara Auditorium

The programme was presided over by Dr. Jaishankar H.P., Vice Principal, and Dr. Anushree, Assistant Administrative Officer, and commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. An awareness video titled “Know Your OMFS,” prepared by postgraduate students, was screened, showcasing the scope and recent advancements in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Departmental awareness pamphlets were formally released by the dignitaries. In his presidential address, Dr. Jaishankar H.P. emphasized the expanding role of OMFS in trauma care, oncology, orthognathic surgery, facial aesthetics, and interdisciplinary practice. The academic segment featured a guest lecture by alumna Dr. Mehak Juneja on “Facial Aesthetics,” which was well received by the audience. The department also organized E-Poster, Meme Making, and Quiz competitions for undergraduate and postgraduate students, witnessing enthusiastic participation. Winners were felicitated during the programme

The event was attended by around 120 participants, including faculty and students, and concluded successfully, marking a meaningful celebration of International OMFS Day
