
POSH Awareness Programme, in accordance with UGC was successfully conducted at JSS Medical College, Mysuru on 16 January 2026 at 3:00 PM. The programme was organized by the Gender Champions initiative, coordinated by Mr. Sanyam Nagori and Mr. Saatwik Murotia, with the objective of promoting gender equality, workplace ethics, and awareness regarding the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) framework. The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Vidya C.S., Professor, who is also the Member Secretary of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). As part of the program a Poem Competition on Gender Equality was organized to encourage student participation and expression on issues related to gender equality, particularly in the workplace and society The competition was evaluated by an esteemed panel of judges: Dr. Nayana Shabadi, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine Dr. Smitha Rani, Associate Professor, Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology First Place – Rhythm Ria Second Place – Saumya Upadhya During the programme, Dr. Praveen Kulkarni addressed the gathering and explained the importance of gender justice, clearly outlining the difference between equality and equity, emphasizing that equity is essential to achieve true equality in professional and administered oath to students The program concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment towards gender-sensitive practices, workplace dignity, and adherence to POSH regulations, in line with UGC and National Commission for Women
