
The Special Interest Group–AMR, in collaboration with the Department of Microbiology, JSS Medical College, successfully organized a symposium on “Quality Diagnostics Matter – Stewardship in Sepsis” on 30th January 2026 at JSS Medical College. The highlight of the event was an enlightening guest lecture by Dr. Apurba Sastry, Additional Professor, Department of Microbiology & Hospital Infection Control Officer, Stewardship lead, JIPMER, Puducherry. The proceedings of the program was conducted by Dr. Sujatha S R, with initial remarks by Dr. Narayanappa D, Principal, JSS Medical College, and Dr. Rashmi P Mahale, HOD, Department of Microbiology. The session was chaired by Dr. Anuradha, Professor & HOD, Department of Microbiology, FAME, and Dr. Suresh Babu, Professor & Head, Department of Medicine, JSSMC. The symposium witnessed active participation and engaging discussions highlighting the critical role of quality diagnostics and antimicrobial stewardship in sepsis care. The session was coordinated by SIG members Dr. Deepashree R, Dr. Tejashree A, and Dr.Raghavendra Rao, Department of Microbiology.
