The School of Public Health, JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, successfully hosted Dr Maria Modayil, PhD, CCC/SLP, Visiting Professor of Global Health, College of Health Science and Professions, Ohio University, Athens, USA from 12 to 17 December 2025 as part of its preparatory activities for the Study Abroad Program 2026, aimed at hosting international students and strengthening global academic collaborations. Dr. Maria Modayil’s visit was structured to support academic planning, institutional engagement, and student interaction related to the forthcoming study abroad program. Dr. Modayil held meetings with the Vice Chancellor, Registrar and Dean (Academics), focusing on institutional readiness, academic partnerships, and long-term collaboration for hosting international public health students in 2026. A significant highlight of the visit was the guest lecture delivered by Dr. Maria Modayil on 15 December 2025, titled “Role of Global Learning in Preparing Health Professionals for the Next Decade”, conducted for students of public health. The lecture aimed to strengthen students’ understanding of global learning and its critical role in equipping future health professionals to address emerging and complex global health challenges. Dr. Modayil visited JSS Polytechnic for the Differently Abled, JSS School, Suttur, gaining insights into student learning environments, and outreach activities supported by JSS institutions.
