
The My City Governance Conclave 2025, conducted under the Youth for Governance Fellowship Mysuru 2025, was organised by the Grassroots Research and Advocacy Movement (GRAAM), Mysuru, in collaboration with the Department of Public Health, JSS Medical College, Mysuru, and Hanns Seidel Foundation (HSF), Munich, Germany. Held on 17 December 2025 at JSS Medical College, Agrahara Campus, Mysuru, the conclave served as a multidisciplinary academic and policy-oriented platform for college students across Mysuru. The programme comprised an inaugural panel, youth poster and research presentations, and a valedictory ceremony, fostering inter-institutional interaction and solution-driven discussions on urban governance and public health challenges
Students from JSS Dental College and Hospital actively participated and demonstrated strong academic and social relevance in their work. Mr. Kiran N. Nambiar and Mr. Ujjwal Kumar, under the guidance of Dr. Nandlal B, Professor, Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, won Second Place for their poster titled “Ultraviolet Sanitization Systems: Addressing Sterilization Gaps in Rural Healthcare Centers of Mysuru”, which proposed feasible UV-based sterilization solutions for resource-limited rural settings. The presentation was highly appreciated by the expert panel for its innovation, public health relevance, and practical applicability. Additionally, Mr. Akash C and Mr. Maanya CP, guided by Dr. Jaishankar HP, Reader, Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology, presented a poster titled “Disinfection Unit in Dental Chair”, focusing on enhancing infection control and patient safety through integrated dental chair disinfection mechanisms, reflecting interdisciplinary thinking and alignment with contemporary clinical infection control protocols
